Itinerary
Day 1 : Thimphu
Arrive at the Paro airport, meet your guide, proceed to Thimphu and check into the hotel. Stay for 2 nights on Bed, breakfast & Dinner basis.
Day 2 : Thimphu
After breakfast, visit folk heritage houses that showcase the Bhutanese rural community’s lifestyle, later visit the School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) Drive past Memorial Chorten built-in the memory of one of the late Kings of Bhutan. Visit the world’s largest Buddha view point and then Visit Takin reserve, the national animal of Bhutan which has a unique creation history behind, later visit the textile museum that displays the expensive textiles of Bhutan. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Punakha
After breakfast check out and drive to Punakha through the beautiful Dochula pass. Candles like 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens built over the pass give an amazing spot to click your Instagram worthy pictures. Enjoy the spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan that stretches almost 180 degrees. After the break, continue towards the scenic downhill drive. Visit Lamperi Botanical Garden, Punakha Dzong, to witness the finest example of the arts and crafts of Bhutan. Enjoy the walks on the suspension bridge over Male River, the longest bridge in Bhutan. Join the evening prayer at Sangchen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery which ends the day. Stay in Punakha for 1 night on bed, breakfast, dinner basis.
Day 4 : Trongsa
After breakfast check out and proceed to Chimi Lhakhang by a short hike, the temple of fertility. The rough journey to Trongsa crosses Pelela pass, called black mountain range. Stop at Rukhubji village, Chendipji and Tshangkha before the final stop at Trongsa viewpoint. Take some scenic pictures of the longest Dzong in Bhutan. Visit historical Trongsa Dzong and explore the town in the evening. Stay in Trongsa for 1 night on bed, breakfast and dinner basis.
Day 5 : Bumthang
After breakfast Check out, visit Ta Dzong which showcases the ancient artifacts. Further, continue the drive to Jakar over Yotongla pass, stop at yatha wool weaving center, well known for woollen products. Later Check into the hotel. In the evening, visit Jakar Dzong meaning white bird fortress. Explore the Jakar town. Stay for 2 nights on bed breakfast & dinner basis in Bumthang.
Day 6 : Bumthang
Post breakfast, visit Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performed annually. Visit Kurjey temple, the spot where Guru Padmasambhava left the body imprint on the rock behind the temple. One can walk across the suspension bridge to visit Tamshing Lhakhang. Enjoy the visit to Swiss farm, taste some red panda beer and Swiss cheese. Later join the monks of Karchu Dratsang Monastery for the evening prayer. This is an amazing experience to see monks chanting the mantras. Stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancakes and noodles, especially about the valley. Overnight in Jakar-Bumthang.
Day 7 : Paro
After breakfast, check out and drive to Bumthang airport and fly to paro. Arrive at Paro airport, proceed to Paro hotel and check in. Stay for 2 nights on bed, breakfast and dinner basis.
Day 8 : Paro
After today’s breakfast, drive back to Paro via Dochula and Thimphu. In Paro, visit 17th century Paro Dzong and Ta Dzong, a unique national museum having a masterpiece of various collections. Visit 8th-century Kyichu Lhakhang and enjoy outdoor activities wearing Gho/Kira, play archery at outdoor centers. Overnight in Paro.
Day 9 : Paro International Airport
After breakfast check out and you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your flight back home.
