Itinerary
Day 1 : Thimphu
Upon arrival in the airport, you will be met by our guide at the airport and thereafter proceed to Thimphu Hotel for check in & relax for the day. Stay for 2 nights in Thimphu on bed breakfast & dinner basis.
Day 2 : Thimphu
After breakfast, visit folk heritage houses that give you an understanding about the Bhutanese lifestyle at the rural community, thereafter visit the School of Arts and crafts (closed on Sundays, government holidays) where students are taught 13 different arts. Drive pass by Memorial Chorten built-in memory of late 3rd King. Visit the Buddha viewpoint, the world's largest Buddha in a seated position. Visit Takin reserve, the national animal of Bhutan which has a unique creation history behind it, then visit the textile museum collection, a house of the expensive textiles of Bhutan. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Punakha
After breakfast, check out and drive to Punakha through the most beautiful Dochula pass 3150m. Candles like 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens built over the pass give an amazing photo stop. On a clear day, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After the break, continue the scenic downhill drive. Visit Lamperi Botanical Garden that gives a wide knowledge of flora and fauna of Bhutan. Visit the most beautiful Punakha Dzong, showcase the finest example of the arts and crafts of Bhutan. Enjoy the walks on the suspension bridge over Male River, said to be the longest of its kind in Bhutan. Join the nuns for evening prayer at Sangchen Dorji Lhuendrup nunnery which ends the day. Overnight in Punakha for 1 night on bed, breakfast & dinner basis.
Day 4 : Paro
This morning after breakfast, drive back to Paro. En-route visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with the religious art of phallus. Afternoon in Paro visit the National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings, visit Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge which is still in use. Evening visit the old Paro town and buy some souvenirs in the local handicraft shops. stay for 2 nights on bed, breakfast & dinner basis.
Day 5 : Paro
After breakfast, hike on the Taktshang Goemba, popularly known as the “Tiger’s Nest”. The four-hour trek offers spectacular views of this sacred monastery. After lunch, visit Drukgyel ruin Dzong and the national museum. Overnight in Paro.
Day 6 : Paro International Airport
After breakfast check out and you will be transferred to Paro Airport for your return journey home.
